Example of invariant-mass distributions for the K*(892)$^{\mathbf{\pm}}$ meson in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV in the $\it{p}_{T}$ range 1.6 < $\it{p}_{T}$ < 2.0 GeV/$\it{c}$. The figure shows the invariant-mass distribution after subtraction of the mixed-event background (plotted with statistical uncertainties) with a fit to describe the peak of the K*(892)$^{\mathbf{\pm}}$ (solid curve) and the residual background (dashed curve).
